Vertigo

Dizziness can be caused by a variety of conditions, many of which can be treated with Physical Therapy interventions. Dizziness typically occurs from poor perception in the joints / muscles combined with visual tracking problems and coordination issues due to a poorly functioning vestibular system. When the brain receives all these mixed signals, it becomes confused and dizziness can often occur. Vertigo is a spinning sensation that typically occurs because of problems between the visual tracking and balance systems in the inner ear (vestibular system).

Physical therapy plays a crucial role in helping relieve dizziness and vertigo symptoms. By performing several key treatments, physical therapists can help you feel more in control of your body and decrease your symptoms of dizziness and balance issues. In some cases, instant results can be achieved with specialized procedures.

Our expert physical therapists have years of training in movement and balance analysis. We evaluate your strength, quality of movement, balance reflexes, and vestibular system to determine exactly where your balance problem lies. We then formulate a complete treatment plan that will improve your balance and train you on what you can do to maintain the improvement.
